More talk, no deal yet for Lee

Derrek Lee is eager to get his contract extension completed within the next week, and while the sides talked again Thursday, there was still no resolution.

Lee has yet to give a deadline for an extension but said, "Hopefully we can get it done and get it behind us."

Cubs general manager Jim Hendry is expected to get his own extension Saturday.

"He's taking all our money," Lee said, laughing. "We see the priority list around here."

Informed of Lee's comment, Hendry said he would be glad to trade salaries with the Cubs first baseman, who is expected to get about $12 million to $13 million per year.

Very nice signing for the Cubbies. I don't know what they would be without Lee.

Pretty sad that Ortiz is making the same amount of money as Lee who is an all around player
