Well, probably, it was ok when Roger Clemens threw a bat at Mike Piazza a few years back. In all seriousness though, what kind of drug are you on Providence? Your comparing a "guy wearing a catcher's mask" to a guy "using a bat to strike someone" It's along the same lines as comparing a boxer wearing brass knuckles in a fight to a boxer wearing a cup.

My apologies Providence, however Varitek jumped up instinctively and went after ARod, taking off his mask was most likely the furthest thing from his mind. Just like the other day when Beckett started on Ryan Howard, the fact that if Howard charged he would take a heck of a thrashing was probably the furthest thing from his mind.
