BREAKING NEWS - Red Sox to acquire Beckett

Hanley Ramirez and two other minor leaguers for Beckett & Mike Lowell
It's a risk, but these two are superb players. Getting a top notch 25-year-old pitcher doesn't hurt.
If only my son could be in Boston to see this glorious day.

The deal is supposedly finalized now.
Red Sox give
Hanley Ramirez (Sox #1 prospect, toolsy MI with no minor league domination)
Anibal Sanchez (Top 6 Sox Prospect, very talented pitcher with some injury history (arm) but who came on this season)
Jesus Delgado (Relief prospect who had a good season)
Harvey Garcia (good ERA with a high WHIP in low level minors, not significant right now)
Red Sox receive
Josh Beckett (25 year old pitcher with all the tools to be great, best known for his brillant 2003 WS performance)
Mike Lowell (3B who may have fallen off the stats cliff in 2003)
Guillermo Mota (A possible product of the Dodgers Pen Haven who has had mixed results at the MLB level but is still a valuable reliever)
Well done.

All in all its a good deal for the Sox and maybe even the Marlins. Sox got a good young pitcher with a lively fastball, defense at third and a good setup man (not closer). Last Marlins firsale turned out ok as they won in 2003, just ask Beckett and Lowell.
