Is Adam LaRoche and Chris Duncan healing the Red Sox's ailing bats?
Well, it can't really hurt. They put LaRoche at 1B, move Youk to 3B, and Lowell, who's been hurt gets to sit once in a while. The Sox won't have to play Mark Kotsay as their primary backup 1B anymore. LaRoche is a good defensive 1B with power. Duncan, I don't think will have much of an impact, but he's an additional lefty power hitter off the bench.
I think both trades were ok, since the Sox gave up absolutely nothing, but neither is mind blowing.
They'd be better off getting a real SS. But the LaRoche trade isn't bad, power is a good thing and their offense is sliding.
Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
Ted: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.
Barney: Circle gets the square!
