The Red Sox Thread [the home stretch edition]

After tonights game with the Rays, it'll be 11 games to go. Hopefully AFTER we win tonight, we'll ride through the last 11 in first place.

Mission Statment.

2nd Place.

After last nights pitching duel, the Red Sox were sent back to 2nd place. Now this is getting pretty annoying. I've come to respect and even admire the Rays, but honestly, THIS should not be happening. They're starting to show a lot of things that potential World Champions have. Mainly the fact that whenever they NEED that one big win, they strap up their balls and get it done. Again, a respectable attribute, but annoying as shit. Granted that pitching by Masterson in the ninth was TERRIBLE, but that's how it goes.

I still want that division title, 11 games to get it. Sadly I have to say just looking at the remaining schedule, the Rays seem to have an easier go of it. But I have faith in the boys and believe they'll get it done.

I think we're looking at the Wild Card now. We have Toronto and the Yankees, both of whom play the Red Sox incredibly tough. Also have 4 games with Cleveland, and they've been playing better lately. The Rays get Minnesota, who has overachieved all year and is now playing like most of us expected them to, and then they finish up against the annually pathetic Orioles and Detroit. I'm just happy it looks like they are going to make the postseason, I had them not making at the trade deadline.

Big loss by the Rays tonight...its only 1.5 still plenty of time to make it up...
