Looking at these pitching matchups things are going to be very close. Things could go either way in all of these match-ups. I am hoping the Redsox can bounce back after losing only there 2nd home series all season long.
Game 1:Haren vs. Beckett: These guys both have very similiar numbers it is almost scary. Both pitchers have 7-4 records with 3 plus era and the strikeouts to walks ratio is almost the same. Both pitchers have a lot of K's and hardly no walks. This should be a greatmatch-up and it is on ESPN.
Game 2: Davis vs. Masterson: Davis has been an inspiration to us all. In his last two outings he has piched well but ending up with no decisions. Masterson continues to be a good fit to the rotation with the injuries that have hit the Sox. He has posted a 4-1 record with a 3.00 era and won his last outing in Philly.
Game 3: Johnson vs. Wakefield: Another tow pitchers with identical records at 4-4, but two pitchers that throw like night and day differently. Johnson has lost his last 4 outings, but continues to be a strikeout threat everytime he takes the mound. Wakefield with his flutterball can baffle hitters anytime he comes to the hill. In his last outing he pitched pretty well and got the no decison going 7 innings and allowing 3 earned.
Outlook: Like I said I would really like the Redsox to bounce back and take this series, but it will be tough. I will predict two outt of three for the Redsox.
