Coming into this 3 game set in Fenway the Rays hold a 1 1/2 game lead on the Redsox. The Sox will be without the services of Big Papi out with a wrist injury and Sean casey will most likely be his primary replacement.
In Game 1 young Justin Masterson will go to the hill for the third time this season where he has at least lasted intothe 6th inning in the previous two outings. He will face off against Matt Garza who has been great so far after started out the season with an injury.
In Game 2 Josh Beckett who can be very dominant will take his strikeout style to the mound with 75 K's in 67 innings. He will face Edwin Jackson who started off really well for the Rays and has recently come down to earth a bit.
In Game 3 Jon Lester will take his off again on again talent to the mound to face James Shields who is becoming a premier pitcher in the American league.
All of these games should be great ones as both teams can have explosive lineups. The one big advantage I give to the Redsox is they are playing in Fenway where they currently have a 21-5 record. I am hoping for the Sox to take at least two of these games.
