Kevin Youkilis tied Steve Garvey's major league record of 193 consecutive games without an error by a first baseman on Tuesday...and then broke it by going without an error again in today's game which now has his errorless streak at 194 and counting...
Some may think that it isn't as impressive because he did this at 1st base...but Youkilis came up as a third baseman, which increases it on my impressiveness scale. Not to mention that...think about it...thats over one full season of consecutive starts without bobbling one single chance.
Garvey set the record 23 years ago and Youkilis called it a "great honor" to be in the same company. Youkilis won his first gold glove last year after going the full season with a 1.000 fielding percentage...
