ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Boston's Matt Clement cut short his first minor league rehabilitation start after one inning Tuesday after hurting his right biceps.
The outing with the Gulf Coast League Red Sox was Clement's first since he went on the 15-day disabled list June 16 with a right shoulder strain.
"He did go back out for the second inning and on the second warm-up pitch he walked off the mound," Red Sox manager Terry Francona said Tuesday before a 9-6 loss at Tampa Bay. "He felt some biceps soreness, so we immediately shut him down."
