right now... cavs, pacers, bulls, wizards, raptors, heat, hornets, nets would probably be my top 8 in the east. the magic are improved, the hawks declined, the pistons are just about the same, the bucks, sixers and celtics are still a year or two away... and i refuse to speak about the knicks. im still the biased schmuck thats trying daily to convince himself that jr smith can come in motivated and be a great number 2 next to melo.

so really... i think that top 8 holds, unless the knicks try playing basketball the first 5 months of the year.

I have CLE/CHI/IND/WAS as my top four. ATL/BKN/NYK/MIA/TOR are probably fighting for the last four spots, with Charlotte in the discussion as well. Knicks definitely aren't the best of that group, but in a relatively weak division, they could technically sneak into the four seed or something.

Ledo has been getting early raves this summer. There's an off chance he can develop much like Lance Stephenson, since he was highly touted then hit rock bottom. He has one of the best coaches in the NBA to coach him up and given depth turn over, he could be pretty useful off the bench as a wing. They also need shooting cause there's not much outside of Dirk and Chandler (and Shard off the bench). If they start Harris, and they should, defense should be better by a bunch than last year. They could be a back end playoff team again in the West, but that's largely depending on Dirk, Tyson Chandler, and Harris staying healthy. I used to not care about watching Dallas but Monta Ellis + Rick Carlisle has been one of the greatest basketball unions EVER.

The Ledo/Lance comp is interesting. Both were huge college recruits who went to sort of surprisingly not top top level schools and left early after some off-court stuff. Ledo could be a heck of a player for Dallas, if the rest of that team works like they're hoping.

path wise, anyways. Mavs losing Vince hurts more than I think people realize cause he was really good in that role for them. They need someone to make an impact off the bench. Crowder brings energy, Wright defense, so I'd say he or Mekel could be interesting. I'd also wager on Carlisle having Felton offed. He must know some of Stern's contacts

God I love the Bobnets signing Stephenson. He and MKG will be rough on wings. Stephenson will also get MKG to loosen up, frequently drunk, and it'll be just good times for all.
