some interesting stuff coming about the brazilian durant. evidently the raptors had a promise to him for a long time... he was in the us way before the draft, and just disappeared out of scouts' view. that would explain why toronto tried so hard to get 22, presumably to take ennis at 20 [if he was there], and bruno at 22.

of course, who knows how much bullshit this is, since the same thing i read that said this, also said that the spurs and mavs had him earmarked for their picks at 30 and 34. and of course, we all know that the mavs didnt hold the 34th pick anymore heading into the draft. and would the spurs still have taken him with kyle anderson on the board?

a very nice signing by washington, bringing in paul pierce, 2 yrs 11 mil. hes obviously not the same paul pierce he was years ago... but just teaching those young guys how to play the game is value unto itself. and he'll still probably be the crunch time guy.

actually, their starting lineup of napier/cole-wade-deng-mcbob-bosh isnt all that awful in the east. especially if wade isnt as totally finished as he looked in the finals. cavs, pacers and wizards are the only teams that are definitely better, the bulls [if rose is healthy] and raptors are probably better and ill throw the horncats in if they sign lance... other than that, the east is a crap shoot.
