After this coming season the Knicks have basically nothing on the books. Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer he didn't take the max deal, and take something more reasonable, but you don't think the Knicks can tempt some talented players to play at MSG next to a top-level scorer? I think they'll be fine.

You're going on nearly 20 years. Sure, the east sucks, so you can make the playoffs here and there. So I guess you can take pride in a 4th seed once in awhile!

i dont see why melo cant lure another max guy in 2015. unless during the wooing process at the garden, jr smith makes an unexpected cameo. "IM HERE FOR ANOTHER YEAR BITCHES HA!" but aside from melo, jr and rookie contract guys [thanasis, cleanthony and timmy jr], the entire roster is a free agent. including shump, whos restricted. and if jr has a monster 2014 [... yea i know], hes got a player option he can opt out of. marc gasol, deandre jordan, lamarcus aldridge, kevin love, rajon rondo and nate robinson are all free agents in 2015. we can drag in one of them definitely.

unfortunately itll be rondo. or nate. [yes i included nate just to be a dick, and because im quasi sleep deprived at the moment]

I'm not saying I expect the Knicks to be title contenders anytime soon. But Melo and another top-level guy with the money free after this coming season surrounded by pieces like Shumpert, Hardaway Jr., Cleanthony Early, next year's first rounder, etc.

This isn't your old Isaiah Thomas-ran team. Phil's never been an exec before, but he knows what a basketball team needs.

i like you. we can talk ourselves into the knicks every season from october to may together, til lebron retires. itll be lots of fun, i promise. and if you watch as much as me, when i make insane statements early in the year like "wow, ray felton looks in pretty good shape this year", maybe you can corroborate and i wont look totally insane to the rest of the world.

Haha. Well, thank the lord we won't have Ray Felton and his lovehandles to lull us into a sense of security this year. I do think Calderon, Shump, THJ, Melo, (God, if we only had a center) could be a decent lineup.
