Jeff Taylor is surging on this season's. Not more than Darius Miller yet, but close. Close.
from what it looked like, i thought taylors vert was ridiculous. if the rumor is true that barnes had the highest vert for a wing, then i dont think taylor or mkg will be too far off. most of them liked taylors game, but his wing span actually came in shorter than his height. still, he'll be a first rounder, and be a rotation guy probably even as a rookie.

I am watching the re-run of the combine today, and I noticed the ESPN crew were taken aback by Taylor's vertical.

Well, the Spurms have two French dudes as is, suppose they'll target Fournier to make it a trifecta?

austin rivers has evidently received a promise, allegedly from a team late in the lottery. take it for what you will.

Do the wolves have a pick? Sounds like a Kaaaaaaahn move.

    Boston will be ecstatic though.

Rondo and Lebron. Can we extend this series to 9 games?

I just noticed Rivers goes to Minny with Ford's 6.0 mock. Funny.
At the same time, logical, they had no range at the 2 guard last season.

Re: 2012 NBA Playoff and Draft Talk

garnett and allen are both fas, though im sure they could get them to come back on a 1 year cheapish deal [they got about 18 mil in cap space]. especially that garnett maniac. they have a decent core with those two, remember bradley got hurt and he was developing into one of the leagues best perimeter defenders with lebron, shumpert and tony allen. figure thats your starting 5 [and bass, though im unsure of his contract situation]. 2 first round picks that they HAVE to get rotation guys with, and maybe bring back pietrus. im sure theyll bring back stiemsma too, whos a solid ridiculous energy/defense/6 foul center.

    pg: rondo, draftee
    sg: bradley, allen
    sf: pierce, pietrus
    pf: bass, draftee
    c: garnett, stiemsma

they could get one more year out of it, i think. hell, they could even let allen go... looked like he was finished. but they gotta bring garnett back. and im sure garnett and pierce would push to bring allen back for the hell of it. maybe an andrew nicholson and marquis teague/tony wroten to take up 10-15 mpg. wouldnt look too bad.

as for our finals... could it be more fitting than okc/miami. each team with 3 superstars [harden and bosh are close enough], lebron drawing everyones ire except for people in miami, and durant slowly morphing into everyones superhero, the guy who can take down the miami juggernaut. plus starbrook is still lurking, dont you doubt that.

Re: 2012 NBA Playoff and Draft Talk

Boston should draft Jeff Taylor. Spend a year under Pierce to develop toughness to go with his supreme athletic ability, defensive skill, and rising offensive game. He keeps going in the 20's anyways in mocks. Perfect guy for them. Of course, if Jeff Green comes back, never mind.

Let's say Allen goes and KG stays, they need a big and a guy with good range. I'd still go with Taylor cause I'm not sure what's ideal at that point with range unless they reach with Doron Lamb or John Jenkins.. Royce White would be perfect too cause Doc Rivers' personality would be most ideal for his anxiety issues. There's a gaggle of bigs around their picks, from Melo to Leonard to Ezeli

Re: 2012 NBA Playoff and Draft Talk

guys are raving about leonards combine, he wont be there that late i dont think. i like royce white as a ball player, even if i think he'll be an undersized 4 really... and i like the taylor or lamb idea. especially if they dump allen, doron lamb is a great fit by me. id stick with nicholson, similar all around game to white, just 3 inches taller [less ballhandling skills though, true], with doron lamb [or taylor, i dont think that would be a bad fit either]. if terrence jones is on the board, hed be a nice fit too... he'll be a 4 too, hes got alright range, and he does alot of dirty work, hed fit in with garnett. different style to bass, i think white or nicholson would be too similar. but jones being there would take a little luck.

oh, and i guess i like stiemsma considerably more than anybody else on the planet. hes got alot of bounce and speed for a big, he just doesnt know how to play the game yet. hes learning, and give him another year in the system/with kg, and i think he'll get it.

Stiemsma was put on the team that trains with the USA team.

They still need a big. KG is another year older and Bass is a chunky "stretch" four. Jujuan Johnson is a soft stretch four. They need a banger to give minutes. Perhaps that's a round 2 guy if they have such a pick.

I keep thinking Jason Smith everytime I see Leonard. Smith has become a solid rotation guy but nothing amazing. I'd still much rather have Zeller. I still think Zeller will be really solid in the NBA..maybe a more athletic Chris Kaman type. I know he won't be much of a shot blocker likely with no wingspan.
