Re: 2012 NBA Playoff and Draft Talk

You never know. I believe Kevin Martin and Shawn Marion were thought to not have a jumper because their shot was SO terrible.

But then again, if he adopts the Andre Miller philosophy of not worrying about outside shots, he might be ok. I really think he's a wild card, if he the attitude is straight and he commits himself, huge coup for whoever drafts him. I really wouldn't be shocked if he ended up as a better draftee than Marshall, Lillard, or Teague.

Or he's completely terrible and is a journeyman like Acie Law.

Re: 2012 NBA Playoff and Draft Talk

i wish i could go back in time to when i had a memory, but im pretty sure martin was thought of as a guy who could score, but there were questions whether he had the athleticism or defensive abilities to stick. props to him, he made it work.

as for wroten... its not so much that he has a weird hitch or something like matrix or martin. its just that the ball comes out of his hands sideways, it rotates left to right instead of end over end. if a team can get him working with a real shooter, and they can correct that, then fantastic. his shooting is probably his biggest question mark, so if he can fix it, he should be a player. but when you shoot a certain way for... presumably... 12-15 years, you usually cant change it overnight. you can mask it, but itll always be reverted back.

    some measurement rumors...

ill stick with tony wroten, who supposedly measured in at 6'6" with shoes. austin rivers was 6'5" in shoes, nice for him. brad beal was 6'4" 1/4, which is superb for him because people were starting to worry if maybe he'd only be like 6'2". and tom robinson was 6'8" 3/4, with only 5% body fat.

somebody from cbs sports reported all that. beal and trobs heights were probably the most important to their stock, so it was interesting to me.

So at worst, Robinson could be Paul Millsap with athleticsm.

all the gms are saying its a guarantee that dion waiters got a promise. bryan colangelo [toronto] says its not them... but that really doesnt mean shit.

jeff taylors standing vert and running vert appeared to be ridiculous, in comparison to where the guys before and after him looked like they came up. but the numbers wont be released til later or tomorrow probably.

as for heights... royce white and terrence jones have to improved their stock nicely with those numbers. both of those guys looked like the two strongest pf's playing yesterday... and both of them have nice height and wingspan. both were rumored to be tweeners 3/4, but it looks like... size and strength wise at least... they could survive at the 4.

and... only 7.5% body fat on drummond at 278... oof.

two things we already knew, but the drills look like theyre confirming... fab melo looks very limited athletically. andre drummond on the other side, looks like a monster out there.

So with that wingspan, is Jay Bilas having a boner over Andrew Nicholson?

lane agility drill... sullinger looked SLOOOOOOOWWWWW. thomas robinson looked kinda meh, drummond looked like he blazed through it. drummond looks like a pure athlete... at 6'11", 280, hes gotta be considered the number 2 guy in the draft right now, id think. im a little behind though, so i havent seen beal, mkg or barnes yet in the lane agility, and i havent seen beal on the vert. mkg had a better vert than barnes, but i dont think barnes disappointed.
