What are the O's thinking? Yes, Gregg saved 37 games last year but was far from a shutdown type closer. The O's already have Koji Uehara who looked a lot better than Gregg did last year plus they just signed Jeremy Accardo. I think the O's would have been better off giving that money to Brian Fuentes who is a lefty. Gregg does have one thing going for him and that's pitching in the AL East last year. I think the O's would have been better off getting someone else for that kind of money. The Orioles agreed to sign Kevin Gregg to a two-year, $10MM deal with an option, according to Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports (all Twitter links). The agreement is pending a physical. Beverly Hills Sports Council represents the right-hander.
The vesting option would bring the total value of the deal to the $16-20MM range, according to Jon Heyman of SI.com (on Twitter).
