    Braves Braves keep Thomson

    Braves exercised RHP John Thomson's $4.75 million option for 2006.
    There was some doubt whether Thomson's option would be picked up, even with Mike Hampton's injury freeing up a rotation spot and some salary. Exercising the option is the right move, even if the Braves intend to trade him later. Worse bets than Thomson will get three-year contracts this winter.
