Braves trade Heyward / Walden to Cardinals for Miller / Jenkins

Now I see why they traded for Vizcaino. Rough. Had to gamble since JHey is a FA after next year and even if he's not back to what he could be offensively, he'd still be good enough to command a lot of money. He's one of the best defensive outfielders in the league. I suppose Justin Upton is next to go and that saddens me.

Hopefully they don't have any more of LaRussa's secret sauce to give to Heyward and this deal completely backfires... but knowing St Louis this is probably the latest reclamation project that reaches its apex.

If you're the Braves wouldn't you rather have Wacha than Miller if you had to pick between the two? Were they worried that Wacha's shoulder could go by way of Tommy Hanson's?

I don't know Wacha's contract status but Miller has 4 years of control, maybe they preferred that because they need to get out from under some of the bad contracts and Miller is very team friendly.
