Hi folks.
I have a friendly disagreement with some fellow Reds fans on another board on this question. Please give me your honest no holds barred thoughts'
As a fan of the Braves, would you trade Andrew Jones for Reds LF Adam Dunn one for one?

I doubt if many would regardless of team affliation.
How would this improve the Braves? I see this as a deal that wouldnt make sense for Atlanta.

Dunn definitely has the better numbers over his career. Not overly close, plus Dunn is a few years younger.

Thanks for your reply. I know what Reds fans think. I'm kind of surprised they took it upon themselves to chime right in after I specifically asked for the opinion of Braves fansOriginally Posted by Generalissimo
So General, knowing many Braves fans as you do, in your opinion I'd be hard pressed to find a Braves fan anxious to do this deal...correct?
Yes. I like Adam Dunn, but you can't take away what Andruw has done for this franchise, and you can't exactly stick Dunn in CF either.

And I would like to think of Andruw as untradeable in my mind. Don't know if all Braves fans are like this, but I certainly am.

This is/was the first I had heard/seen this brought up. I hadnt visited Redszone in a long while and this just seemed like two teams trying to fit round pegs in square holes.Originally Posted by Sea Ray

I'd keep Jones...CF is a tough position to have to refill
I wouldn't even think about the deal from the Brave's prospective.Originally Posted by Generalissimo

That would suck ass in thirty three different ways.

What General said in his first post was harsh, but it's the truth. I would not trade Andruw for Dunn in a million years. Dunn plays a position that is less easy to fill, his defense is mediocre at best, and he has the same problem that Andruw has, he K's a ton. Obviously, the power is very nice. He is a better power hitter than Andruw, regardless of their 2005 stats. However, even after you factor that in, I would not make the trade. I really like the way Andruw has taken on a leadership role, and as long as he does not block out Terry, he can be a pretty good hitter himself.
Exactly.
