ATLANTA -- Chipper Jones' four-RBI performance and another three-run homer from Jeff Francoeur provided Mike Hampton more than enough support in the Braves' 13-8 win over the Diamondbacks at Turner Field on Sunday afternoon.

While making his first start since July 17, Hampton was granted the gift of a seven-run third inning that was capped by consecutive homers from Francoeur and Ryan Langerhans. Doubles by Rafael Furcal and Chipper Jones sparked the Braves, who saw each of their first seven batters of the third inning reach safely against Javier Vazquez.

Jones, who is hitting .533 (16-for-30) in his past nine games, got things started for the Braves with a towering first-inning two-run homer. With 320 career homers, all while being managed by Bobby Cox, he's tied a record previously held by his idol, Mickey Mantle, who hit his first 320 homers for legendary skipper Casey Stengel. Nobody has ever begun their career with more home runs under one manager.

Hampton, who had thrown just six innings since straining his left arm on May 14, allowed three earned runs and nine hits in five innings. Although they produced four consecutive one-out singles, the Diamondbacks came away with only one run in the first inning. They tallied two more with a two-out Royce Clayton single in the second inning.

Francoeur helped Hampton out with his bat and his arm. The rookie right fielder minimized the damage in the first inning by throwing out Luis Gonzalez at the plate. To end the fifth inning, he threw another perfect strike to catcher Brian McCann, who applied the tag to a bewildered Gonzalez to give Francoeur his eighth outfield assist.
