    Braves Derek Lowe on Opening Day?

    Derek Lowe will start for the Braves on Opening Day against the Nationals.
    Definitely a surprise, as many thought the assignment would go to Tommy Hanson. It appears that new Braves skipper Fredi Gonzalez just preferred the veteran. Lowe, 37, went 16-12 with a 4.00 ERA over 33 starts last season.
    I know its Fredi's first year but he is aware that Tommy Hanson and Tim Hudson are also on this team right? I cannot find any reasoning for him to be the Opening Day starter over those two men.
