The 2009 season is almost upon us. Tomorrow night the Braves will face the Phillies on ESPN2 @ 8:00pm EST. The Braves need to start off right with a series win against the defending Division Champs. I am always looking for a sweep in every series but at least 2 out of 3 will do. One win out of 3 just won't due.

Tonight is the big night. In just 3 hours the first game will be under way.

Chipper Jones (illness) is expected to play in the Braves opener.
There had been some concern he could miss a game or two as he recovers, but it sounds like the team expects him to be good to go once they open the season against Philadelphia.

Good news for the Braves and the fans if Chipper got enough rest yesterday. I'm not happy at all that the Braves played yesterday and are playing tonight but I know the team is ready to get the season going.
