They probably wouldn't want Greene.
They probably wouldn't want Greene.
Evidently they covet Greene (no I'm not kidding)......this coming from an insider source through MF.......FWIW
I guess they've got a hardon for this kid and always have.........
Here's a quote from an inside source......again FWIW
Khalil Greene is highly coveted by the Braves as well. Escobar has rubbed some people the wrong way with his attitude and he would be part of the deal if Greene is included
The Braves need Peavy so they should do what they could do get him. The Braves like both Escobar and Johnson but who knows. I would hate to see either go.
"For someone who was never meant for this world, I must confess I'm suddenly having a hard time leaving it. Of course, they say every atom in our bodies was once part of a star. Maybe I'm not leaving... maybe I'm going home."
I'm sorry but this guy is probably using old information. Greene is inconsistent and strikes out way too much for the Braves to give up more prospects for. Greene is also coming off a horrible year. Braves are better off getting a free agent SS and keeping a prospect instead of trading yet another one away.

This definitely hurts the Braves chances but this might also put Jar Jar on the table. Braves still have a lot of pieces the Padres are needing like a OFer, 2B, SS and SP.Braves GM Frank Wren has reportedly told the Padres they will not give up Tommy Hanson in a trade for Jake Peavy.
It'd be really difficult for the Padres to do a Peavy deal with the Braves without getting Hanson or Jair Jurrjens back. Peavy may prefer Atlanta as a destination, but it won't matter if the team decides to be stingy. The Cubs and Dodgers could still be fits. According to the Chicago Tribune, the Cubs may make a proposal that would also include Derrek Lee and Adrian Gonzalez, something that could net the Padres a number of talented youngsters (Felix Pie and Sean Marshall would have to be in the mix). Also, while the Padres would certainly rather see Peavy out of the NL West, they're better off making a good deal with the Dodgers than a bad one with the Braves.
Nope......current conversations......and he was just on the Bill Shanks show discussing the same things......
Just repeating things here is all........but the Braves covet Greene for some reason......and you know as well as I that GM's have a hardon for some guys regardless of what they've done.....
Why trade Adrian for Derrek Lee?
Please don't do that.
