Two doctors found major ligament damage in Tim Hudson's elbow, making Tommy John surgery likely.
"Both concur that surgery is likely," Braves spokesman Brad Hainje said. "But he's going to take a short rehabilitation period before he makes a final decision." It will be difficult for Hudson to return in 2009 even if he undergoes surgery right away, so it doesn't matter much if he takes a few weeks to decide.

Right now Billy Beane is doing horrible things to his Rich Harden and Joe Blanton voodoo dolls.

Typical. Injuries hit hard everywhere, pitching from the get go (Moylan had to have the same surgery). Smoltz gone, Moylan gone, Hudson gone, Glavine blows, Soriano doesn't stay healthy, Gonzalez just came back, Bennett got hurt, Chuck James is horrible, Chipper hurt again, Kotsay sold his back on ebay, McCann with a concussion the other day, Francoeur's talent pulled an OOTP and died.. Casey Kotchman will break his elbow fishing.

poor Hudson...he was always a favorite of mine from his time with the A's. He pitched a 2-hit shutout on 93 pitches to beat Pedro and the Red Sox in my first game at the Coliseum.
