The Braves and Dodgers start a three-game series Monday at Dodger Stadium, and both will be trying to bounce back from Sunday losses.

In the Dodgers' case, they'll look to put the 12-0 loss to the Astros in the finale of a six-game road trip in their rearview mirror as quickly as possible.
"[Going 4-2] would have made a nice trip for us, kind of take the momentum back," manager Don Mattingly said. "I don't think anything that happened today changes the way we're feeling."
Despite Sunday's pounding, the Dodgers are sitting atop the National League West with a 12-4 record.
"History tells us, obviously, you're not going to play this type of baseball all year long," Mattingly said. "It's kind of like storing nuts for the winter. Every win you can get now gives breathing room for whatever you have to do to protect guys [late in the season]."
The Braves had won five in a row and 10 of 11 before having their momentum interrupted by Sunday's 6-4 loss to Arizona.
In the 11 games prior to Sunday's loss, they had outscored their opponents, 77-40.
Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said he looks forward to playing a hot team like the Dodgers.
"I'm always afraid of the teams that are losing 100 games or don't have a winning record," Gonzalez said. "They don't have a lot to lose. I'm always [concerned] about them. I'd rather be facing a team that is 50-2 coming in."

Pastorslappy and Jack Wilson are now a combined 26/115, 1 homerun, 5 walks to 21 strikeouts. The offense has been pretty solid, except obviously this position hasn't helped. Pastorslappy has raised his average to almost .260 and his OPS is almost nearing .700. Maybe there's hope.

Juan Francisco, lol. 17 strikeouts in 46 at bats. That's rich.

I was in the stands with Haf. When he lead off the game with one. When he crushed it off ondeusek we couldn't believe it was him! It said on the board for his first at bat he was .182 career average against Latos. He then went 2-3 off him.

Bourn hit another HR tonight. thats 4 in his last 51 AB.... prior to that... 4 HR in his last 1065 ABs!

Braves purchased the contract of SS Andrelton Simmons from Double-A Mississippi.
The move was announced after Wednesday's game and is now official. Simmons will take over as the starting shortstop with Tyler Pastornicky now at Triple-A and will give the Braves a potentially elite defender at the position. He was batting .292/.372/.421 batting line with three homers and 10 steals, but we don't expect him to do a whole lot with the bat.

I'm excited to see this kid's defense!
