The team Towers pieced together with utility players has come through and won 14 of their last 19 to take the lead in the NL West. One utility player in particular has excelled and that's Ryan Roberts. Roberts is hitting .280 with an .864 OPS, 7 HRs and 8 SBs. He is doing it all for the Dbacks and has been a pleasant surprise for them. Upton and Young have the power numbers but the rest are lackluster. Ian Kennedy looks to be having his breakout season with a 3.01 ERA so far with a 1.04 WHIP and 6-1 record. I don't expect the Dbacks to sustain their recent success but with the Giants losing Posey and the Rockies losing de la Rosa, they could stick around a while.
