I like this deal for the Dbacks. He's cheap and should get constant playing time, something he didn't get in Chicago last year til Lee was traded. The pitching in the NL West is better than the Central so he might struggle there but for less than $2 million, its a nice gamble. Plus he can play the OF too so he does add some versatility.Jon Heyman of SI.com reports that the Diamondbacks have reached agreement on a one-year, $1.75 million contract with Xavier Nady.
Nady will play both first base and left field for the D'Backs next year. He batted just .256/.306/.353 with six home runs over 317 at-bats in Chicago this past season and probably won't be much of a fantasy option, even if he gets regular playing time in Arizona's power-friendly ballpark. The 32-year-old can earn another $1 million through performance-based bonuses.
