Blum and GM Kevin Towers have a history but this is not a good start for the new GM. I know its not a lot of money but why the second year?Diamondbacks signed INF Geoff Blum to a two-year, $2.7 million contract.
It's now official. Blum hit just .267/.321/.356 for the Astros this season, doesn't play good infield defense any longer and turns 38 before the start of the 2011 season, but the Diamondbacks are going to bring him in anyway on a two-year pact. He'll serve as a utility infielder for Arizona.
