Protesters show up at the 4 games series between the D-Backs and Cubs, like the D-Backs have any say in state legislation.
I certainly hope that MLB does not kowtow to this political agenda.

Why does Congress think they need to be involved in baseball's business all the time?

I understood stepping in on the steroids scandal but that doesn't mean they need to step in on every little issue now.

Supposed to be huge protests in LA tomorrow over this. I remember years ago when the illegals protested. Traffic was never better in my life, since they were all in the city. Hope that happens again.

One of the main issues with this situation is just like many others, people have failed to actually find out what the new legislation actually says and just reading what others "say it says". In fact the "new" legislation is to "toughen up" laws and statutes that already exist pertaining to people in the country illegally.

Now even more misconceptions are coming from the MLBPA with Michael Weiner (oh the irony of a name) claiming that they will have to worry about players being "targeted" during games and Spring Training. Well, only if those players decide to commit a crime while they are there and along with it don't have proper papers to be in the country.

IIRC, I think the politicians became involved because the D-backs owners were big supporters of McCain and the entire Republican party, or vice versa, or something like that. So I guess the boycotting and protesting of the games is a way for the fans/people to say they also resent the law (and the party, and Congress' involvement, and the illegal status of camel hunting...). But I agree, I don't think that politics and baseball are a good mix, and that the two should keep to themselves.
