With Byrnes coming back next year, Dunn didn't really have a place in AZ. The Dbacks will be happy with their draft picks for both Hudson and Dunn. Randy Johnson, Brandon Lyon and Juan Cruz are also supposed to test free agency. AZ has a lot of work to do this offseason to help stay near the top of the West,According to the Arizona Republic, the Diamondbacks are unlikely to re-sign free agents Adam Dunn or Orlando Hudson.
Dunn seemed likely to be a half-season rental when the Diamondbacks acquired him from the Reds and part of that trade was their ability to get drafts picks as compensation when he signs elsewhere. There are indications that the Diamondbacks would like to re-sign Hudson, but expect his price tag to be our of their range.
