Brandon Webb has won every one of his first 9 starts this season. He's got a thing for hot starts out of the gate, starting 6-0 in '06 and 8-0 in '07. "It's pretty amazing, it's getting to be amazing, kind of, things are just happening," said Webb. The last person to do what Webb has accomplished is the Padres' Andy Hawkins, who won his first 10 starts in 1985.
Webb has a 2.59 ERA so far this year with a WHIP just barely under 1 (.995 to be exact). He also has 49 strikeouts compared to only 17 walks, and has allowed 46 hits in 63 1/3 innings.
Webb's next start will be against Florida either May 20th or 21st depending on how Manager Bob Melvin plans to use the off-day on the 19th.
