I don't see the significance of the first Diamondbacks team, but obviously someone in Arizona does, because before the game tomorrow, the D'Backs will have a ceremony to honor the inaugural roster. Some of the attending members will be:
Buck Showalter, the team's first manager; coach Glenn Sherlock; outfielder Brent Brede; catchers Damian Miller, Jorge Fabregas and Kelly Stinnett; infielders Jay Bell and Travis Lee; pitchers Brian Anderson, Andy Benes and Gregg Olson; and Rich Dozer, the team's former president.
A couple of funny names there.
This celebration will be a part of the Diamondbacks' season long celebration of their 10th anniversary. I'll be honest, I didn't realize they were that young.
