PHOENIX -- The Arizona Diamondbacks have decided to reward Chad Tracy for his consistently solid play.
The Diamondbacks have scheduled a press conference at 6:00 pm ET at which they will announce they have signed Tracy to a contract extension, the team said in a statement Monday.
The extension is for four years, ESPN Insider Jerry Crasnick reported.
Tracy, who will turn 26 on May 22, is in his third season with the team and is batting .301 with six home runs, 25 RBI and 22 runs in 36 games. Last season, the third baseman hit .308 with 27 homers and 76 RBI in 145 contests.
