I was under the impression we had to stay within the salary cap throughout this exercise once free agency began..How is this being monitored as many team pages are not updated by their teams. I know of one team that is well over the cap currently placing bids on free agency. Wouldn't that make their bid invalid?

So for the guy in our league that traded for Patrick Willis only to have him retire - he's not on the hook for any dead money, is he? I don't have a stake in this but that would seem harsh to me.
Also - I see that C Nick Hardwick is in the FA pool though he recently retired. As amusing it would be for someone to bid on him and win him, maybe it would be better to strike him from available FA?
